One Room Challenge Week 5: Painting the Walls and LightingThis week feels exciting because we finally made a bit more progress on the Boy's Nature Bedroom, you may remember last week, when I narrowed it down to 4 paint colors. Now, with only 2 weeks left of the One Room Challenge, I am eager to get the walls painted so that we can begin to move furniture into the room. After careful debate, we finally decided on a new wall color for the room. hooray! We wanted something soft and light that would accent the photography. We had originally considered painting the room a soft white. So without further ado, the color that we chose is: Gray Owl by Benjamin Moore. Now, I'm convinced that we have to paint the trim and door in Cloud White, a softer slightly warm white that will not look yellow or beige. In a twist to the plot, we decided to do an accent wall in a deeper color. Many of you responded to our Instagram poll with Blue Dusk and I do like how it looks on one wall! It is a deep blue gray that appears slightly green too. I really can't wait to see the wall color with the bed in the room. Fingers crossed, that our handy man can come this weekend to assemble the bed for us! I will be interesting to see how the colors work together as a background. Kudos to us! We even purchased a new ceiling fan this week. Here are 3 of my favorite modern ceiling fans from white, to stainless and bronze! For me, choosing the ceiling fixture was a bit easier than the paint. Side note: I was so tempted to use a mid-century chandelier type of lighting fixture, but I know how important it can be to have a ceiling fan in the bedroom too. I also really liked the modern wood and metal one below. Can you guess which fan we chose? And now, for those of you that have been trying to figure out which bed we chose from the product boards, we did decide to go with the gray mid-century style daybed. Due to the size of the bedroom and space plan, we needed something that fit well into the corner, so we decided on that style bed. We might be adding in a few few things to warm up the room and make it feel more playful and fun. We also want it to double as a guest room and feel grown-up. We are going to be adding in this fan over the weekend. I think it will tie together the natural wood tones across the space. Thanks for dropping in this week! We are only 2 weeks away from the big room reveal and I can't wait to show you. Until then, you can catch up if you missed a week, Week 2, Week 3, and Week 4!
Also, you can check out all the other projects and participant's rooms.

Thanks, Libbie:) I was unsure of the Dusk Blue, and look forward to getting the bed in place to visually break up the wall space...Gray Owl is a staple that I have used in the past!
