Modern, Bohemian and Creative boys Bedroom Style
I would love to get your opinion on a new project that I am working on! We are finally getting around to styling my son's bedroom after years of dreaming about the design. Which kid's room style speaks to you and why?
Although, I feel these rooms are mostly gender neutral, I am designing a room for a very special little boy, my 3 yr old son;)) I have been looking forward to this and collecting inspiration with my Children's Spaces Board, since even before he was born. Feel free to follow along on Pinterest! For children's rooms, I am inspired by minimal furnishings, neutrals, patterns, and often a playful touch. Lately, I have been drawn to photography as a medium and hope to use photos in his room redo in a big way.
I like the vintage modern room below for it's simple sophistication. The bohemian room for it's neutral tones, patterns and textural furnishings. In the playful-creative room, I love the shades green and the cactus wallpaper speaks to me with our family's love for visiting the Mojave desert.
Until now, designing his room is something that I always planned to do. I played around with creating a small nursery space, when he was little. It was impermanent, as we had not defined our extra bedroom, which has doubled as my husband's office and a guest bedroom too!
Now that my son is older, it feels appropriate that he has defined bedroom and space for all his belongings. Lucky for us, he is now willing to sleep in his own bed again and the shift towards his own room is welcomed by all. We are going to be choosing a twin bed with a sturdy trundle, so that we can still accommodate family and guests that stay over night. We will be making a decision about that piece of bedroom furniture later this week I will be checking in on Wednesday with 2 product boards with sources and I would like you to vote for the one that you like the best.
Mostly, I'd love to hear from you! How have you created or personalized space for your children? Do you feel that kids need their own rooms to be happy and secure, if so, at what age?
