Hosting a Giveaway + Grateful for New beginnings this year
Today, I have something special to celebrate. In November of last year, I began this site, with the intention of sharing DIY content and starting a conversation about diy, textiles, woodworking and design. I am excited to announce that it has been 1-yr of learning and sharing also known as my blogiversary, yay! To celebrate I am giving something away from my hand-dyed collection.
Foremost, I wanted to thank you, my readers, along with the blogging community and the new friends and creative people that I have met this year. It has been super fun, and I would not be doing this without you!
This year has been especially renewing and inspiring to me. My vision for this space to share workshops, DIY and design is emerging as we go! To look back at the first post on ever written for this site, I can see how I have grown in a year.
When I look back over this first year, there have been milestones that have been transformative through the act of creating. Not to mention, my current studio work has expanded to include indigo, fiber arts and textile design.
For me, these were the top 10 momentous events here on A Day in the Life in 2017.
In 1 short year, I have learned so much. I am grateful, for all of those new friendships and artists that I came across this year, I can't wait to see what unfolds in 2018. I plan to start making DIY videos on my Youtube channel and hosting more workshops, so please continue to follow along with me! My next workshop, Marbling Cloth Napkins was just announced, I hope you can join me!
In the spirit of gratitude for the amazing year that we just had, I am giving away a set of Shibori tea towels. For this giveaway, you can win a set of 2 large indigo Shibori tea towels in blue. These will make amazing gift to yourself or a friend!

HI, I'M HILARY.
A Day in the Life, aims to inspire you through DIY, travel and daily design. As a visual designer, I am inspired by travel, textiles and California. Woodwork and textiles have a special place in my home. In my studio, I love it when an idea evolves into a tangible form. I believe in craft in the most elevated sense of the word. I hope you will enjoy this space where art and craft meets California design. I hope to meet you in person at one of my maker's workshops!
All layouts on this blog are created solely for, A Day in the Life. I enjoy sharing information and love when others enjoy my ideas enough to post the links on their own sites. I simply ask that you credit photos and link back to all original posts.
