This online course is a creative's dream come true! Learn about Natural Dyes through this exciting e-course Introduction to Natural Dyes.
What if you simply want to learn about sustainable fashion and overhaul your wardrobe?
This course will provide in-depth knowledge and opportunities for you!
Are you looking for an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of natural dyeing in a relaxed setting with guided lessons?
Maybe you want guidance or like the opportunity to work alongside a virtual community.
Now you can explore the magical world of natural dyes in a meaningful way. In this course, you will work with 3 fundamental dyes and understanding the associated processes, such as mordanting, mordanting with tannin and scouring.
In this 4 unit course, natural dyer, Hilary L Hahn guides you through dye-stuffs: The hues of golden pomegranate, vermilion madder root, and indigo blue hues makes this course a study in the primary colors of the world of natural dyes. I believe these 3 dye-stuffs to be essentials because of the colors they yield and the endless possibilities of overlays and over-dyes.
If you would like to gain experience working with authentic dyes that can be colorfast and lightfast, then this is the course for you. You will learn from video instruction, tutorials, and the experience of natural dyeing itself. Each week features as new ancient dye-stuff!
You will benefit from the experiences of the group and have access to our private FB to ask questions and share work. This is a hands-on dye course that focuses on one dye per unit/week. There is always an opportunity to access the course after the fact and review.
