Natural Indigo Dye & Shibori Workshop in the Garden

Learn Natural Indigo Dye and Shibori techniques with textile artist Hilary L Hahn, enjoy a day fueled by creativity in the heart of Venice Beach (there will be easy stress-free parking in our private location)
There will be plenty of room to social distance outdoors while communing with nature.
When: Date is officially October 30th 11 a.m- 2 p.m. (3 hour workshop time)
What will we do?
In this workshop, you will be guided you through the basics of natural indigo dye. Learn how to look for natural fabrics, learn a brief history of indigo dye and create a personalized design with Shibori folding techniques. You will be starting out with a bandana but there will be time to up-cycle an additional small piece of clothing. Up-cycle a tee or pillow cases and make them new to you!
This workshop will include:
- One 100% organic cotton bandana
- sparkling water, tea, and a light lunch
- use of rubber bands, wooden shapes, & clothespins
- guided instructions
Attendees have the option to bring one small natural fiber item to upcycle such as a t-shirt, pair of socks or other lightweight apparel item! Unsure what to bring? Ask us!
