Learn Natural Indigo Dye and Shibori techniques with textile artist Hilary L Hahn, enjoy a morning fueled by creativity in the heart of Venice Beach.
There will be plenty of room to social distance outdoors and connect to nature.
When: August 28th 11 am- 1 p.m. (2 hour workshop time)
What will we do?
In this workshop, you will be guided you through the basics of natural indigo dye. Learn how to look for natural fabrics, learn a brief history of indigo dye and create a personalized design with Shibori folding techniques. You will be starting out with a bandana but there will be time to up-cycle an additional piece of clothing. Up-cycle a tee or pillow cases and make them new to you!
This workshop will include:
- One 100% organic cotton bandana
- sparkling water and bubbly teas
- use of rubber bands, wooden shapes, & clothespins
- guided instructions
Attendees have the option to bring one natural fiber item to upcycle such as a t-shirt, pair of socks or other lightweight apparel item! Unsure what to bring? Ask us!
