Have you ever wanted to explore the beauty natural indigo? In this small group workshop, you will create a sustainable piece for your summer wardrobe. Find the freedom to create an indigo and patterned textile that you will cherish for all time. After traveling to Kyoto, Japan and Aritmatsu, the birthplace of Shibori textiles, I share with you a peek into that journey to learn about the origins of Japanese indigo and shibori techniques. I will teach you 3 popular techniques, Arashi, Itajime and Kumo shibori, as we explore simple binds, ties, and folds. You will choose between dyeing a scarf or a linen box top. With an option to up-cycle 1 small piece of your own choosing that you bring in. Bandana blanks will be available to purchase. Advance registration is encouraged as I get many requests and this workshop is expected to sell out.

When: Sunday, July 10th at 11 - 2 pm (3 hour workshop time- with a short lunch break)

$140 includes custom box top

Attendees should bring one small natural fiber item to up-cycle such as a t-shirt, pair of socks or other small apparel item- see picture 4 for inspiration!
