I Create Products, Textiles and DIY Projects
Welcome to my design studio. I am so glad that we found each other. A Day in the Life blog is where I will document ongoing design projects that are happening in my studio. I plan to share musings on product design, tutorials and DIY, all while helping you curate a handmade space. I love everything handmade, especially textiles and simplicity in design. I will go into more details about that in just a minute, but first a little bit about myself and why I've decided to keep a blog.
I created my first blog back in 2009, when blogging was relatively new. For 7 years, blogging was a hobby, where I learned a lot about myself as a writer and a designer. Today, I mostly design products and textiles, along with the occasional interior design.
Every day I wake up and I create something new. Some days, I work in my art studio, while other days I teach workshops or classes. This blog is my way of sharing projects, ideas and tutorials with you. I will also review and share quality workshops, events, and museums that I attend in Los Angeles for those of you who love art, craft and design as much as I do.
Through this blog, I hope to connect with you and designers from all over the world. I would love to hear from you. What does your creative process look like, right now? What new art skills are you interested in learning?
Although, I write the majority pieces here on A Day in the Life, I am currently accepting guest submissions for Children's Spaces, Asian textiles, and nature-inspired DIY. For more info, please visit my About page.
Here are some of the most popular things that I write about.
Please have a look around!
HI, I'M HILARY.
A Day in the Life, features a handmade lifestyle from Shibori textile techniques, natural dye methods, and California design. I love dreaming up products for a sustainable home. I offer creative workshops to inspire you to live your best life by connecting you to your creativity and others. I hope to meet you in person at one of my workshops for creative people like you!
All layouts on this blog are created solely for, A Day in the Life. I enjoy sharing information and love when others enjoy my ideas enough to post the links on their own sites. I simply ask that you credit photos and link back to all original posts.
