EXclusive Photos of Jaipur, Samode Palace and more!Come away with me to see exclusive and original photos of the Pink City, Jaipur, I have the perfect photos to treat your eyes and satisfy your wanderlust today. Our visit to the Rajasthan area of North Indian was rich in inspiration, color and patterns. The Rajasthan region is rich in color, culture and arts. Jaipur, the Pink City, is one of my favorites and was named for the color of the stone used in many of the building structures. Today, I would like to share some arts and architecture to inspire you, especially if you are considering a visit to North India! Samode Palace lies on the outskirts of the city. It is a magical place that offers a lot of stunning visuals and historic architecture. Sunny yellow motifs, bougainvillea, and pink dahlias greet guests as they arrive. Are you feeling inspired yet? Just look at all those hand-painted wall patterns!
If you are as passionate as block printed textiles and patterns as I am, then please read on to see exclusive photos from a block-printing factory and more candid shots of Jaipur..

LAbor Day: French 75 CocktailCheers! I want to wish all of my readers a Happy Labor Day! Thank you so much for following along this new blog over the past 9 months and taking part in this new journey! I am really excited about where things are headed. I see a lot of travel out there on the horizon, along with new textile designs and new experiences. This weekend marks another milestone for us. It is, in fact, our 6th wedding anniversary! 6 years ago this weekend, we were married on a beach up in Malibu. We plan to head there to the beach to celebrate and relax on that same beach this weekend. Time sure does fly when you are having fun! To celebrate, I wanted to share with you a French 75 cocktail from Vegan Futura, my husband's new venture, that I really enjoy. It's light, refreshing, and the perfect addition to your Labor Day Party! Although, I literally can only drink one;) The full French 75 cocktail recipe is here: Shibori cocktail napkin designed by yours truly...
How about you, what are your plans for Labor Day weekend? anything fun!? Stay safe, enjoy and I look forward to a sharing how to combine Indigo Shibori techniques on Procion dye when we return from the holiday:) Vegan Basil Pesto Recipe
Today, I am thrilled to share with you a bonus post along with my husband's new website, Vegan Futura. As a family, we cook often and the subject of family recipes and our food legacy has come up recently. We have been thinking about the recipes that are specific to our family and those favorites that we enjoy cooking time and time again. Since A Day in the Life focuses on art, interiors, and California lifestyle, Ashish will simply drop-in with a healthy California vegan foodie post from time to time. I always jokingly say that I am a vegetarian foodie and despite being vegetarian, I still appreciate and enjoy delicious food!
Without further ado, I would like to introduce you to Ashish of Vegan Futura. Check out his first recipe below.
This is one of my favorite recipes when I find fresh organic basil at the farmers market. This is fresh, flavorful, light and easy Italian classic, not to mention quick without much preparation. You can serve this as a side or as a main meal.
